Appearance: Intense dark red.
Nose: Blackcurrant with cedary notes.
Palate: Medium bodied, soft and round with plum and blackberry flavours. Some cinnamon and vanilla. An attractive, well balanced wine, typical for our cool climate.

vineyard

Sarsfield Estate Vineyard is located in the Lakes and Wilderness area of East Gippsland, Victoria.
All grapes used are exclusively estate-grown.

vintage

2002 was a cool season with a severe hailstorm at Christmas and a warm but rainy autumn. Vintage was late and yields very small.

winemaking

This is a single vineyard blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 15% Shiraz and 12% Merlot. Grapes are fermented in open vats and pressed in a hand-operated wooden press. The wine has been matured for 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
